Another day to a brand new year…

Filed under: Life — ericltkong @ 2:21 pm

Today (sun), service ended early than was expected. and also, started the service a lil’ bit out of schedule this time. only a pianist and a semi-acoustic guitar accompany the worship team since the other music team has just gone or still on vacation mode.
the preacher was… i forgot! mind you, i did pay attention to the sermon. i think if not mistaken it was, Ps. Peter Pengiran. if i got the wrong person, then i think i just came out wit that name and dun ask me how did i do it. but i know there’s a ‘Pengiran’ in his name. the message was about looking back at Christmas (Luke 2:1-40), reminding us to quiet down and let Jesus fill our lives despite our busy schedules. and it was only 15mins sermon, quite fast though. i think maybe bcos the pastor is in a hurry to go ‘ngabang’. hehe… maklumlah, everyone still in their Christmas mood i guess.

Saw a few frens who came back either from their holiday or semester break. of course, Ps. John (our youth pastor) and family is back from their ‘honeymoon’. and this week, EYM is back on track again but not sure i’ll be going or not. Maxwin and his family (except for Hywell, who decide to work there) is back in here, briefly since last fri. Max is still the same as i last saw before he left in the beginning of the year. there may not be drastic physical change but i’m sure there is changes in his spiritual side though, dun you agree. another fren who is back from w. malaysia is Esther. not sure when she was back cos i din get a chance to catch up wit her.

Well, after tomolo will be a grand new year. everyone looking forward to it, cos got off-day from work. too bad it doesn’t fall on a saturday. yet, i haven’t got out a piece of paper and jot down my new resolution for this coming year. but definitely the first on the list will be, to pass my law unit this time! other than that, i still haven’t sit down and think through it yet.

Still at the end of the day of wat we expect to achieve for this coming year, let’s leave it to our Lord the Saviour. i agree wit wat Justin’s post has mentioned. that is, RENEW our commitment with God and surrender to Him. it’s hard but not impossible.

Well before i go, i wish everyone who is reading this have a Blessed New Year 2008 and God bless everyone of us!

cheers…

Christmas spirit still going on…

Filed under: Festivals, Life — ericltkong @ 2:23 pm

~Woot~ Been going house-visiting for the past 2 days, and also today. on Christmas day, went to 7 houses and the following day to 3 houses. all i can say is i was totally full the whole time. another wonderful thing was, we were requested to sing carol for them for a few houses that we visited. why not, if it’s to bless those whom we visited!

Today only go one house, which is Nick’s house. awesome food was prepared for us and lots of people here too. i’m still there as i’m blogging now. will be at his house till later in the evening when we go for music practice around 8 pm.

Oh ya, yesterday just went for an interview wit one of the plantation company. it was the worst interview i ever came thru. totally unprepared at questions which was thrown at me. below are some of the questions and responds that i’ve made during the interview. wat worse was that, there was 3 interviewer! one male and two females and the one who interviewed me was a male who is holding a senior finance manager post.

Interviewer: Can you tell me what SOPB is all about as a company?

Me: Honestly, the only thing i know bout it is it deals wit oil palms. not sure if you deal some other business or whether you have any subsidiaries, do you?

Interviewer: Can you tell me bout yourself?

Me: I’m a very frank person and i don’t like to wait. one good example is like today i have an interview at 8.30 am and i came before 8 am. but i waited until 8.35 am also i see no one came and interview me. another thing is, i work well under pressure at time.

Seriously, i dun think i did well. not bcos of the response i made to the questions above but taking into accounts of other things too. they told me they’ll interview a few more candidates before filtering out the qualified one and will call after 2 weeks if i’m the chosen one.

Come to think bout it, i couldn’t care less whether i get it or not. would rather concentrate on my summer course instead of earning money but neglect the books. talking bout summer, gonna start my first class next week. can’t wait to get things done.

Desperately need to get my last unit done and thru for one specific reason. that is, to be able to send my letter everywhere without worrying bout the fact that i haven’t complete my degree. i won’t have to limit myself to only a few firms in applying but can dump my letter everywhere when i want to and feel like it.

Anyway, gtg now. wanna go layan ppl who is coming over to Nick’s house. heard some of my frens are here oledi.

cheers & GB…

It’s Christmas time!

Filed under: Festivals, Life — ericltkong @ 8:37 am

Yes!!! it’s here as all brothers and sisters in Christ have been waiting for all year. last night we had a so-called a fast service at our church. fast but yet a meaningful one. the pastor spoke on a sermon that reminds each and everyone of us to live in a way that is pleasing to God so that we can a role model for the other ppl.

Service last nite ended around 9.30pm and off we went for supper at Rainforest (at Pacific Orient Hotel). had my meal and after that we headed straight home.

Starting to online around midnite after picking up a fren who also came to sleep over. i get to chat wit my sweetheart but not for long since the wireless connection kong-ed. even as now as i’m now awake, i still feel bad for my sweetheart. reason was i left her abruptly without even telling her why. actually after that, i did come online when the wireless started to work again but then she was not there anymore. guess she has fallen asleep, know she was tired yesterday.

Sweetheart if you’re reading this, just wanna say that i’m sorry that i went off last nite without good night to you. really feel bad that i din get to answer your call before midnite last nite and furthermore with the wireless connection. just wanna say, have a blessed Merry Christmas my dear…

I only slept around 3 something in the morning. was afraid i couldn’t sleep since i have this habit of not sleeping at a foreign place no matter how cosy the bed may look. thank God i managed to sleep. if not, i’ll have a hard time today in staying awake.

Today, service will be at 10.30am later but will be heading to church around 9 something. better be there early rather than rushing. after service, will be tagging along wit frens to go house-visiting. not sure how many house we can cover today, think i can cover it as long as my tummy still has space.

Oh ya, gonna have a choir presentation at my church today. abit nervous though… not that we din rehearse but just that of all thing i’m ask to present, choir is something new to me.

To all others who are celebrating Christmas, have a great time wit your family and friends on this beautiful and wonderful festival season!

Christmas time….

cheers & GB…

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!

Filed under: Festivals, Life, Religious — ericltkong @ 7:22 pm

Finally… it’ll be less than 24hrs till Christmas Eve and after tomorrow nite will Christmas Day!

I just got back from church wit some frens. not to say that my service went overtime but we had a rehearsal for our songs presentation over the afternoon just now. all went well i should say.

Tomorrow nite service will be around 7.30pm onwards for roughly 2 hours cos i’m not sure how long is the service. on Christmas day, service as normal at 10.30am in the morning. after that, we’ll be going ‘ngabang’ (sarawakian for visit) church members house, hunting for foods.

This time not sure how many house i’ll go, just tag along my church frens as long as there’s food. it’ll be a long day as well i guess on that day. hehe… can’t wait for it!

On wed which is the 26th, i’ll have to go for an interview at one workplace. not sure, i’ll get it or not. just pray for me that’s all. it’s been so long since i send my letter to that particular company since way back during hari raya and only a couple of days ago they called back. i’ve even forgotten that i ever send my letter to them.

Above all else, Christmas still comes first. it’s not bout the food but a remembrance of God giving us the wonderful gift that no one can ever give to you nor me. that is the birth of Jesus, who came into this world to save us from darkness and cleanse our sins wit His blood!

Therefore since He has saved us 2,000 yrs ago, then we should in one way or another be abide to Him and do things that will please Him. i know it’s easier said than done cos i’m facing it too. but i haven’t give up yet and so you mustn’t too.

The birth of Jesus Christ

Here again before i go, wish everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year 2008! enjoy the party and GB ppl…
