Last weekend outing

Well now that i got my internet line back and fixed my pc sound driver problem, i’ll be able to blog and upload some photos properly instead of blogging in campus which is a pain in the ass. the campus blocked flickr site and you can’t upload photo using their bandwidth.

As i mentioned earlier that i was gonna post up some pics and here’s some of them. went out wit a group of photo-enthusiast (thank God is not cam-whore!) last weekend to explore certain part of our beloved Miri town. there was like 8 of us and most of us are equipped wit camera except for me but i’ll just borrow it from my sweetheart.

We had to go early like 8 something to meet up at supposedly 9am. started off at SunCity where we had our breakfast. we left our cars there and we set foot from there all the way thru Centerpoint and into the temple. weather was usual, bright and sunny but was acceptable. took random shots but not much i’ll gonna put up cos Nick has put up some.

While at Centerpoint, the gals sempat go shopping at all the boutiques that they can find there. so, we guys kinda like stop once awhile just to wait for them. while waiting for them, this is wat one of our brother did;

We did dropped by a couple of furniture gallery in the midst of our photo-taking session. first was Artisan Gallery that sell furniture with nature as the main theme. so, most of the furniture are made of either teak or solid wood and even import from our neighbour, Indonesia. wanted to capture some photos but the owner didn’t allow it. only Randy and Nick managed to get a couple of shots without the owner’s knowledge.

The other one was Lorenzo and i can’t tell much cos i didn’t go in. going that kinda shop makes you feel like it’s time to get marry to settle down and that’s why you need new furniture.

And while passing by the shophouses there, i came across this so-called cd/vcd (watever God knows) shop where they actually has a trolley of vcd that is on sale for cheap.

Mari mari… semua VCD adalah ORIGENAL!!!

After Centerpoint and the temple, we walked past the old harbour port and went on to explore wat is behind the row of shops (where the Miri’s first KFC is located). i never went behind there, knowing the facts that there are no shops there. even if you were to go there, most probably to get a x-ray scan for medical check-up. i was surprised hearing from Justin that there are coffin shops behind it cos all i know of coffin shops in Miri are just Sim Nyuk Onn (at Open University area) and Ah Ming (in Krokop). here behind these so-called abandoned place, there was 2 coffin shops. here’s a view of the alley to the back where the shops was;

From there, we went on to where the old folks in Miri hangout. Mirian called it the Lau Ren Jie (old folks’ street) cos this where they lepaked and you can see them play chinese chess, blackjack or chinese blackjack over a cup of kopi-o kau. Nick has some good shots on this place at his site. since we’re all there, we went into Mee Hua shoe store (shop where you can get quality safety shoes) to get some the soothing aircon. after awhile, we left and Nick decided to have his photo taken wit this background;

Nick punya cita-cita, jadi ALONG…

We did stop for some cold icy-drink before going on again to waterfront area where Justin, Randy and i took photos from a parking complex way up high. i can tell you that our knees were shaking when we stood near the railing to take photos. imagine you’re 10th or more floor high and the railing at the side are only up to your waist-height! but then, that is where you can get some nice shots of the surrounding area since it’s surrounded by building with less open area.

Our final destination was Taman Bunga. it was my first time going there not knowing that there was lots of beautiful plants being grown there. besides some uchak also like to hang out there. when we went there, there was a few only. kids nowadays… is either they’re uchak or emo-wannabes. can’t believe that guys like them used eye-liner… tak tsk tsk. oops, sorry to side-track. we took photos and i would say the one below would be the best photo;

This is the only part of the taman that looks dead. more like the undead playground if you play Warcraft 3, minus the graveyard and the meatwagon. and while at the park, we found a kid that was apparently found to be smoking weed (lalang) with some of his companions;

Caught in the act…

However, one of their realized we’re there and decided to hide (or hug) behind a tree just to prevent her photo being taken. We called it a day after that as each wanna go back and rest since we had an easter service that nite.

That nite, my sweetheart and i had a conversation over the photos taken by our brother Randy. these was the conversation and Randy happens to be seated besides me when this happened:

My sweetheart: Hey, how come got so many photos got you in there one? eeee… maybe he (Randy) likes you.

Me: Ah… like that also can???

My sweetheart: Ya, i think he likes you la.

Me: Ya, maybe he likes me but i don’t mind.

My sweetheart: ewww… i don’t want you oledi cos you’re gay!

Randy: (looking at me speechless for a moment) Honestly, i took alot of pics and i didn’t know you were in it.

Now, my sweetheart will once in awhile ask me whether i’m gay or not. so, i just played along and admit that i am which i am NOT gay. that’s all for now.

cheers & GB…
