Boss’ kinda thinking
My office got pantry where employees can have their drinks and light meals. but then my boss do not encourage ppl to have afternoon coffee break at the pantry. typical accountant kinda thinking though. my boss tens to think that having break in the pantry is a waste of resources. hello… we’re not machine! even if we are, machine also need to cool down and be added oil.
For me, anyone deserve a break. i go out to the other ‘canteen’ alongside my office (not the one behind) to have my morning breakfast frequently and recently afternoon break in the pantry over a cup of coffee. i dun see anything wrong cos for me as long as i can get my work done to show my boss, it’s ok. but my boss thinks it in a different way.
My boss would be extremely happy to see you sit at your desk 8hrs a day, 5 and half days a week, 22days in a month, 264 days a year without moving from your seat. which means you’ll work till you reduce to skeleton also doesn’t matter cos a new one will come in.
Then wth need to build a pantry there, just take it down if the employees are not allow to have break even for a short while! just as i typed this most of you might think that i got ‘bomb’ by my boss cos my boss saw me in the pantry a few times. sad to disappoint you readers that the answer is no. haha…
