This is my 2nd day in Bintulu for work. it’ll be a long month for me and thank God is not a remote places where there’s problem with phone lines.
I’m staying in the company’s quarter for executive and there’s no internet access for now that i’m at one of the HR officer’s home using his wi-fi.

This 2-days training was organized by my company and a continuation from our first module held back in the month of october this year. The training was provided by SMR Group (SMR Learning & Development S/B) and the topic was about “Time Management.”

Been tied up wit deadlines and even more deadlines for the past and coming weeks. besides, boss is coming over this week but won’t be for long.
After all this while, i realised a couple of things. i din find it out myself but of course after having some catch-up wit on brother who came back for raya holiday recently. news i’ve heard was not news about wat has been going on where he stayed but where i stay! and in conclusion:
These 2 factors was not told to me but i knew the very reason why there was so much i have unheard of. the news doesn’t upset me just because i was the last to know, but ‘disappointing‘.when i say disappointing, it is very disappointing. i thought i’m hopeless but yet there are still ppl who acted in such way whom i thought otherwise!

I can come out wit details which i do not hesitate but it’ll caused controversies and yet i have other things to worry about. so, i’ll just keep it for next time.
Oh ya in case you’re wondering, this entire post has nothing to do wit work or my colleagues except for the first paragraph.

I thought i might as well update abit here of wat has been going on for the past one week in a new environment.
Well, i only get to receive my assignment last thursday after being told to read several books and that includes in getting to know all the companies which a few or some maybe my potential ‘client’. the assignments are not hard but then it’s too protocolic in a way. that’s the job of an IA (internal audit @ idiots’ association). why i said the latter was cos all depts kinda dislike my dept for wat we basically, checking on them. and it’s not new to me, since i was wit SY before. but then i like it. it just encourages me to take on job that most ppl dislike.
Food from the cafeteria is way better than SY for sure. the food are edible by human beings. and it’s so good that i’ve been eating during morning and afternoon tea-breaks!
I felt the constant pressure when i started my assignment cos they have this annual appraisal thing. not only that, cause i’m assigned to a mentor and make myself to try and perform my tasks up to his level of expectation.
Anyway, that’s all from me now and Raya is coming soon. which means it’ll be a deserve break for me and to get hold of the things i’m absorbing from work to digest properly.

I’ve started my new work at a new place yesterday and i’m still learning to adapt to the new environment, which is not really a problem for me. wanted to put it up yesterday but then got ppl ‘curi cable’ (steal cable) so couldn’t be able to online.
First thing when i reached there while waiting for the HR personnel to entertain me, i was told to read the book on about their ‘Terms & Conditions of Services’. it was ok and i thought maybe that’s the only book i’ll ever have to read before starting my work.
So, i was brought around the building and introduced to some ‘important’ ppl. and finally, i was brought to my dept. to meet up wit my colleagues (and also ex-unimates). at that moment i thought to myself, now at least i won’t feel alone in the whole IA dept. as i was in my previous company.
I was showed to my table and the next moment came 2 more books to be read. one was ‘Competence Framework’ while the other one was ‘Audit Approach Methodology’ (500+ pgs!). wah lao eh, i can’t believe it there was so much to read.
Just if yesterday wasn’t enough, i was again given another 2 more books today to read. i have to admit that i’ve never read so much non-stop before in my entire life, not even my uni life! normally, reading a book for an hour is enough to kill my life. wat more to say, me reading books for these 2 days non-stop. and besides, i have nothing else to do but read. i was told not to rush to be given work cos i need to understand lots of things from the books before getting my hands on doing the work. by the way the book i was talking about, are books written and printed by the company itself.
No pc for me yet, but maybe a laptop if i request for one but it’ll take donkey years. so, about 90% of my colleagues brought their own laptops. and if you look at it the other way, you might mistaken it for a PC Fair! at the moment, i’ll see how things go first before deciding to use my own laptop for work.
There’s only 1 thing that i wasn’t happy with compared to my previous company. and that is the TOILET! here, the toilet cubicles is too crampy and not comfortable enough for me to do my business. in my previous company, the toilet cubicles are so spacious and tiles are even better than the one here. the toilet in the previous company is so nice till the extent that there are ppl who is able to take a nap while in the middle of doing their big business. can you see how great is the toilet now?!
Anyway, will blog more as days goes by.
